Palmer United Party Senator believes the
Islamic legal system “obviously involves terrorism” and its followers need to instead follow Australian law “100 per cent”.
“If you are not going to show your allegiance to our constitution and to Australian law, then get out,” she told ABC’s Insiders program this morning
She is also sticking by her push to:
ban the burqa headdress, arguing it is a security risk. “I believe it is a national security issue,” she said.
“It is just like anything else, it is like a motorbike helmet. It’s like a balaclava. I will not allow you to wear that into my office because it is a security risk.” People should be able to show their faces and “they shouldn't feel that they need to be oppressed, to be able to hide their faces,” she said. “I think that’s the way for the future of Australia.” Senator Lambie also said she “absolutely” stood by her call for:
Sharia law supporters to pack their bags and leave Australia.
When asked what she understands Sharia law to mean, the PUP Senator said it:
“obviously involves terrorism”. “It involves a power that is not a healthy power.” You can't follow both Sharia law and Australian law, she claimed. “You can't have 50-50.”
“You are saying, though, if they follow their faith, they have no place in Australia?” Barry Cassidy asked. “That’s what I'm saying, yes:
If you are an extremist towards Sharia law, you have no place in Australia,” Senator Lambie responded.
The former soldier said the government was“heading in the right direction” tackling the issue of terrorism at home.
“It needs to go in hard and fast.”
The Coalition will have her support for legislation to beef up counter-terror laws, to be debated this week.
“They can certainly rely on me,” she said.

Archaeologists uncover hidden gas chambers
at Nazi death camp Sobibor in Poland
Archaeologists working at the site of the Nazi concentration camp at Sobibor, in eastern Poland, say they have uncovered previously hidden gas chambers in which an estimated 250,000 Jews were killed.
German forces tried to erase all traces of the camp when they closed it down following an uprising there on October 14, 1943. The Nazis demolished the gas chambers and an asphalt road was later built over the top.
Archaeologists excavated beneath the road and found lines of bricks, laid four deep, where they believe the walls of the gas chambers used to stand.
They have been able to establish how big the chambers were, information they said would help build up a more precise picture of how many people were murdered at the camp.
"Finally, we have reached our goal - the discovery of the gas chambers," said Yoram Haimi, one of the archaeologists.

Sudanese Christian woman sentenced to death says she had God by her side

On Monday September 16, 2014 Meriam Ibrahim was featured on Fox News’ ‘The Kelly File’.
Meriam Ibrahim, the Sudanese woman sentenced to death for refusing to renounce Christianity, told Megyn Kelly Monday, “the situation was difficult but I was sure God would stand by my side.”
Ibrahim, who arrived in New Hampshire Aug. 1 to begin a new life with her husband, son and daughter after her death sentence was overturned, said on “The Kelly File” that “there are many Meriams in Sudan and throughout the world. It’s not just me.”
Ibrahim says her mother was an Ethiopian Christian and her father a Muslim who abandoned the family when she was a child.
“I was never a Muslim,” she told the Sudanese high court during her apostasy trial. “I was raised a Christian from the start.”
Asked how difficult it was to stand by her faith, Ibrahim told Kelly, “I had my faith in God.” She said that while in prison she was visited by imams from the Muslim Scholars Association who recited parts of the Koran to her.
“My faith was the only weapon that I had in these confrontations with imams and Muslim scholars because that’s what I believe,” she said.
“Faith means life. If you don’t have faith, you’re not alive.”
Asked why she didn't just say what her captors wanted, Ibrahim replied, “if I did, that would mean I gave up.”
While in prison, Ibrahim gave birth to a daughter. “I had to give birth with chains on my ankles,” she said. “It was difficult.”
Ibrahim’s husband, Daniel Wani, is a Christian from South Sudan and a U.S. citizen since 2005.
